Get a fresh perspective viewing the world from the sky..
We begin the day before sunrise in Brisbane. After a briefing and refreshments at the Archerfield Jet Base we will take off and fly out west!
The flight route takes you through the magnificent Scenic Rim towering over 3,500ft high and out past the remnants of the second largest shield volcano in the world. The ancient, now-exposed, volcanic lava flows and shield rim make up the Scenic Rim and Border Ranges. It is really something to see from the air – a 100km radius on the volcanic rim and towering volcanic plugs! You then continue out west to the Granite Belt. Australia’s largest granite monolith is Bald Rock. We tour Bald Rock National Park from the sky before making our way to land at the town of Stanthorpe.
After landing and a quick breakfast + coffee in town you’ll spend the morning hiking and exploring, (rock climbing and abseiling optional with the Hike Climb Fly extra). After about 3hrs of hiking or climbing you’ll make your way to a couple of our prize vineyards. A local vineyard owner sometimes does a Master Class with our guests. If he is not available we’ll see one of the other wine makers for a tour of their cellars where we learn about the local area wines, and more. Wine cheese and local goodies too boot.
For a late lunch we have a really special experience – a bit of a highlight of the day. A seven course degustation with matching wines at Ballandean Estate fills the remainder of the afternoon.
The return flight back to Brisbane lands you back at the Archerfield Jet Base.
